Children’s Dentistry

We are kids’ friendly practice with a gentle caring approach.

We promise to make your child’s visit to the dentist a fun and interactive one. Your child will be laying down watching their favourite movie while their teeth are checked!

At each and every visit, we will be checking the entire mouth including your child’s soft tissues (gums and cheeks), teething (baby and adult teeth) bite- how the teeth come together, growth and development, identify any decay and treat.

Also our dentist will discuss

  1. Brushing techniques
  2. Habits such as thumb sucking
  3. Nutritional advice
  4. Prevention of trauma

Unfortunately, more than half of all 6 year olds kids have some decay in their baby and adult teeth according to the Australian Institute of health and welfare. The early your child visits the dentist, the better. And as we believe that forming good dental habits starts by visiting the dentist t an early age.

Child Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS)

We participate in the Child Dental Benefit Schedule (CDBS) and for your convenience, we Bulk Bill the treatment directly to Medicare. We also offer gap free on private health funds for kids. We will provide you with detailed treatment plans according to your child’s needs.

Your child may need preventive service such as Fissure sealants and Fluoride therapy or restorative treatment for any existing cavities. We also provide custom fitted mouth guards to reduce the risk of common dental injuries due to sports and activities.

CDBS Helps keep your kids’ teeth healthy by providing you with up to $1000 that you can use over 2years on a range of dental services including exam, routine clean, fillings, root canals, preventive treatment such as X-rays, Fluoride and Fissure sealants.

Fissure Sealants

Fissure sealant is resin coating (varnish) that is applied to the chewing surface of the back teeth (molars and pre molars) that can effectively protect teeth from decay. As the bristles of the tooth brush cannot reach into the deep grooves (fissures) that are difficult to clean and tend to trap bacteria that cause tooth decay.

They are ideally placed on molars as soon as they erupt into the mouth however, they can be placed on adult’s teeth at any age. The procedure is quick and painless.

The procedure is quick and painless. That requires NO drilling nor anaesthetic and Fissure sealants will harden with special light to bond it to the tooth. The newest sealant and release Fluoride on the tooth surface and prevent or arrest decay. Fissure sealants are cost efficient way to protect teeth on the long term.

Mouth Guards

Mouth Guard is an extremely essential protective equipment for anyone participating in a sport either contact or non-contact sport. Mouth Guards are made from a strong plastic material that protects your teeth, gums and jaw, from horrific sporting injuries including chipped, cracked or knocked out teeth, cut lips and broken jaws.

It is not just painful but also costly and time consuming to repair.

Unlike the mouthguards purchased over the counter, the mouthguards are custom fitted by your dentist is better as it is specially designed to fit the exact contours of your mouth and teeth, based on the moulds/ impressions that your dentist will take of your teeth.

We offer various colours. Your dentist will check your mouth guard when you come in for your regular check -ups. And will always advise you on how to keep it clean.

The Australian Dental Association recommends a custom- fitted mouth guard for all Australians who play contact sports or sports with high risk of dental injuries.

Pregnancy

Not only do we look after your kid’s teeth but we care about our pregnant patients. As during pregnancy, teeth, gums and mouth are affected by hormonal changes. These changes can cause some conditions as pregnancy gingivitis. As you see your GP and Obstetrician, you need to see your dentist to provide preventive care and required treatment.
